Custom Perfume Bottle Cost: What Goes into Your Quotation?

A custom perfume bottle quotation should tell you what you are buying, what must be developed, and which costs return with the next order. A low glass-bottle price is not a complete packaging price if it excludes the spray pump, cap, decoration or export packing.

STDBOTTLE offers available undecorated stock bottles from 1,000 pieces. Spray coating, hot stamping and printing require at least 3,000 pieces per bottle model, per color and per logo version; quantities cannot be combined across variants. New-mold bottle production starts from 15,000 sets.

Our US$1,600–2,500 tooling range covers the full mold set for the agreed bottle project, including sample and production tooling; production molds are not charged again later for that project. Sampling is US$200–500 including shipping, and the sampling fee can be credited against the subsequent bulk order payment. Confirm the design scope, sample quantity and revision arrangements in the quotation.

Separate recurring costs from development costs

Ask for an itemized quotation with these lines:

Cost itemWhat to confirm
Glass bottleProduct reference, capacity, glass specification, weight and ordered quantity
Spray pumpAttachment type, finish, dip tube and whether it is supplied fitted or separately
Cap and collarMaterial, finish, inner fit and whether a collar is included
DecorationColor, process, artwork, application area and setup charges
Mold makingSample tooling, production tooling, number of sets and ownership terms
SamplingSample type, quantity, revisions and dispatch costs
PackingDividers or other protection, cartons, pallet requirements and labeling
DeliveryAgreed delivery point, freight scope and charges excluded from the offer

Keep one-time development charges separate from the recurring unit price. Otherwise, a first-order quote can look expensive simply because it includes work that a competing offer has left out.

For your own comparison sheet, calculate the quoted order total as the unit-price items multiplied by their quantities, plus the specified development, packing and delivery charges. Divide comparable totals by the same quantity of complete sets. Do not compare a bare bottle with a decorated bottle-and-pump assembly.

Why the first custom order includes extra work

Our new-mold process begins with a sample mold and samples. This stage takes approximately 25 days. After the samples pass testing and are approved, the first bulk-production stage takes approximately 50 days.

That first bulk stage includes preparation of production molds. Depending on order size, one or more production mold sets may be added to support the required output. A sample mold is therefore not the whole tooling plan for a commercial run.

For a repeat order using the established tooling, our bulk-production reference is approximately 40 calendar days. The additional production-tooling preparation explains the longer first bulk run, but does not create an additional mold charge for the agreed project.

Reference budget: 5,000 matte-black 50ml sets

A customer-selected brief for PB-GL-341 (legacy reference STD341) calls for 5,000 sets: a 50ml bottle, matte-black finish, printing, a silver-finish spray pump and a weighted black T-shaped cap. The project record supplied to us identifies July 27, 2026 as the color-confirmation date: translucent black and matte black were considered, and matte black was selected.

The following is an approximate planning illustration authorized for this brief, not a final invoice or a completed-delivery case study. Its underlying quotation used a different quantity and finish description, so the figures must be reconfirmed for the final specification and destination.

Budget lineReference per setIllustration for 5,000 sets
Product set allowanceUS$0.96US$4,800
Sea-freight DDP allowanceUS$0.70US$3,500
Combined allowanceUS$1.66US$8,300

The product and logistics allowances represent approximately 57.8% and 42.2% of this illustration. There is no verified allocation between glass, pump, cap and decoration, so those components are not assigned invented prices. Confirm printing coverage, the exact accessories, packing, destination, delivery scope and quotation validity before budgeting a purchase. No sample, production or shipping dates have been established by this record, and no delivery or reorder outcome is claimed.

Compare three versions of the same project

Before reducing bottle quality to reach a target budget, ask for alternative specifications. An available undecorated bottle, the same existing shape with a printed logo, and a newly molded bottle are different purchasing routes.

An existing shape can avoid developing new glass geometry, but decoration and custom accessories still need their own quotation. A new mold may be appropriate when the silhouette is central to the brand and repeat demand supports the investment. Our stock-versus-custom guide explains that decision in more detail.

Ask suppliers to quote the same quantity, component list and packing scope. Also request the difference between the first order and a repeat order. A useful quote makes both visible without assuming that every future order will have identical costs.

What to send for an accurate quotation

Send your selected perfume bottle references or dimensioned concept, quantity, capacity, intended decoration and required pumps and caps. Include artwork if available, your destination and the date you need the packaging.

State whether your target budget is for the glass alone or the complete set. List the quantity for each design, color and artwork version so that the supplier can confirm how the minimums apply.

Questions buyers ask

Does the mold fee include all production molds?

Yes. Our US$1,600–2,500 range covers the complete mold set for the agreed project, including the sample and bulk-production molds. Record that scope in the quotation.

Is the sampling fee automatically deducted from the order?

Our US$200–500 sampling fee includes shipping and can be credited against the subsequent bulk payment. Confirm sample quantity and revision arrangements before payment.

Can I get a fixed price from a photograph?

A photograph helps identify the design direction. A firm offer also needs quantities, dimensions or a confirmed existing model, components and decoration requirements.

Schedule the quoted work

Lead times are approximate calendar days, counted from receipt of the advance payment for the relevant stage. Available undecorated stock dispatch takes about 10 days; printing or spray coating takes about 15–20 days. For new molds, allow about 25 days for sample tooling and sampling, then about 50 days for first bulk production after sample testing and approval. Repeat bulk production with established tooling takes about 40 days. Customer approval delays, revisions and transit are separate; the bulk stage cannot start before sample approval.
